The 6th China-Russia Expo and 30th China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair Will Open Soon
On May 25, reporters learned from the 6th Sino-Russian Expo and the 30th Harbin International Fair's press conference that the 6th Sino-Russian Expo, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will be held from June 15 to 19 at Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Sports Center, while the 30th Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair will also be held at the same time.
The theme of this Sino-Russian Expo and Harbin Fair is "Sino-Russian local cooperation: opportunities, potentials and future". It coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia and the closing year of the Sino-Russian local cooperation and exchange year. It focuses on the theme of Sino-Russian local cooperation and attracts international markets, resources, technology, capital and other factors of production to gather on the Expo platform. This Sino-Russian Expo and Harbin Fair will play a positive role in promoting the docking of "the belt and road initiative" with the Eurasian Economic Union.
It is understood that the current Sino-Russian Expo and Harbin International Fair have a planned exhibition area of 86,000 square meters, which is divided into "three pavilions and one area" according to the exhibition contents and regions, namely, Sino-Russian Cooperation Pavilion, International and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Pavilion, Electromechanical Equipment Pavilion and Large-scale Machinery Exhibition Area. A total of 1,360 enterprises from 34 countries and regions signed up to participate in the exhibition, of which well-known enterprises from 5 federal districts and 18 state districts of Russia organized delegations to participate. 832 Chinese enterprises from 21 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) have decided to participate in the exhibition, mainly covering the central, eastern and western regions. The exhibition highlights key Sino-Russian cooperation projects and achievements in modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing, aerospace, mineral cooperation and cross-border e-commerce. At the same time, this year's China-Russia Expo and Harbin International Fair held 31 supporting activities, covering such hot areas of China-Russia cooperation as local cooperation, customs, education, finance, youth and culture.
This year's China-Russia Expo and Harbin Fair have invited economic and trade delegations from the governments of China and Russia and third countries to attend. Invitations have been sent to 139 provincial (state, county and district) governments and foreign embassies and consulates in China in 40 countries and regions including the United States, Britain, Germany, Australia, Japan and South Korea. Abroad, 55 overseas government economic and trade delegations and overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese delegations from 29 countries and regions including Russia, Britain and Germany confirmed their participation. At home, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the General Administration of Customs, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a number of provincial and ministerial government economic and trade delegations from Guangdong and Liaoning confirmed their participation. The delegation of 40 world top 500 enterprises, central enterprises and large enterprises, including China Comac, China Auto, COFCO and China Chengtong, confirmed their participation.
At present, the work of inviting investment and inviting exhibitors has been completed, and the exhibition level, exhibitor structure and quality of exhibits are better than those of previous sessions. Russia's exhibition area is 3,267 square meters, the largest ever. The number of international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan booths reaches 1,012, accounting for 39% of the total number of booths. Fifteen countries along the "the belt and road initiative" line participate in the exhibition. The exhibition area of Japanese, South Korean, Indian and other countries has reached the highest level in recent years. Canada, Tajikistan and other countries are participating for the first time.
It is reported that this year's China-Russia Expo and Kazakhstan Fair highlight the achievements of China-Russia cooperation projects. For the first time, under the framework of the China-Russia Expo and Kazakhstan Fair, China-Russia mining cooperation achievements exhibition, special exhibition on ports to Russia, medical equipment exhibition, poverty alleviation and assistance exhibition, achievements exhibition of Kazakhstan Fair for 30 years, 70th anniversary of Sino-Russia diplomatic relations and Heilongjiang-Russia cooperation achievements exhibition are added.
As for the arrangement and design of the supporting activities, the current Sino-Russian Expo and the Harbin Fair focus on grasping the new features and trends of economic and trade cooperation in the "100 billion era after Sino-Russian trade". The activities basically cover the key areas of cooperation between China and Russia. On the one hand, the level of business activities is relatively high; On the other hand, the depth and breadth of the activities are outstanding. Economic and trade activities account for 80% of the total number of supporting activities and cover the major sectors that drive the growth of Sino-Russian trade. Among them, the number of activities supporting Sino-Russian trade in services has increased significantly over the previous years. Interregional and inter-industry trade activities such as China (Guangdong)-Russia (Far East) Economic and Trade Cooperation Roundtable and Sino-Russian Local Bank Cooperation Roundtable are more intensive. The number of promotion activities by Russian ministries and departments and regions reached 10, and a large number of cooperation results and intention clues are expected to be formed after the meeting.
In 2018, under the personal guidance and promotion of the heads of state of China and Russia, the bilateral economic and trade relations "made great strides forward", with the trade volume exceeding 100 billion US dollars and realizing leapfrog development. In 2019, bilateral economic and trade cooperation faces new opportunities and has made a good start. As the highest-level and largest comprehensive exhibitions between China and Russia, China-Russia Expo and Kazakhstan Fair will surely create more opportunities for promoting bilateral economic and trade relations and local cooperation and exchanges, and will play a positive role in promoting cooperation and exchanges, project docking and economic and trade exchanges between China and Russia and third-party countries.
